Expansion Team Draft and Original 16 Own Players Signing Deadline

Alright with the Expansion teams well on their way to select their prospects, at the same time, the expansion team draft can start.  I know it's quite a lot of things going on at the same time.  Sorry about that but I've been too busy to get things sorted earlier.  Draft order is reverse of Prospect draft so Tokyo Earthquakes gets to start this time.  Please double check to make sure it's your turn to pick in the right draft since we have two going at the same time now.  The faster we can get through this, the faster we can organize free agency.

I know it's taken a while for me to get organized.  Sorry about that, a lot going on.  However, I just realized that the expansion PROSPECT draft is all ready to go.  Thanks to Bombers, you new guys have a nice list to pick from with some great information to help you decide your prospects.  *NOTE* These are prospects, not necessarily guys that will be playing on your team this year.

So who are the new guys?  In alphabetical order,

BFHL 2011/12 Rating PREVIEW

Now that some off season activities have started, current GMs have already begun throwing trades around.  This can be hard to work with when you don't know how players are being rated.

We are using this set of ratings found here. You may notice that there is a greater seperation between good players and bad players.

What is hoped with this approach is a bigger distinction between players and teams.

More importantly, it's that time to get the off season stuff going.  I've been so busy with work, moving/house hunting and more work that I haven't had time to get things going as smoothly as I wanted.  Gonna be a rolling start here.

Free Agency Teaser

That's right - free agency is just around the corner.  We've received all the data/rankings from NAIHL and will be creating our free agency spreadsheet over the next few weeks.  As per last year, we exclude all entry level contracts and contracts that are minimum salaries.   

Few preliminary observations:  

2010-2011 BFHL Awards

The BFHL awards were handed out tonight, and the following players hoisted their new hardware proudly.

Conn Smythe (Playoff MVP):  Roberta Luongo (AVI) just edged out Ryan Kesler, despite not winning the Stanley Cup.  With an amazing 0.919 SV% and a 2.44GAA, Luongo backstopped Aviators all the way to game 7 of the finals.
