Please Welcome New GM of West Coast Killer (formerly Earthquakes)

Hey BFHLers

Off season is hopping with excitement and I would like to take the opportunity to welcome Lisa as the new manager for the Earthquakes.

First few orders of business involved moving the team from one fault line across to ocean to another, rebranding as the West Coast Killer and picking up the pieces of a neglected and crumbling expansion franchaise.

Prospect Activation (2013-2014, i.e. NEXT year)

The Commissioners have voted regarding prospect activations.

Starting NEXT yr (2013-2014), if a prospect is rated, he will be activated (and is not at the discretion of the BFHL GM).  This will have implications on your cap hit obviously, so make sure GMs manage it THIS year and keep in mind which prospects may potentially register for their relevant cap hit.

As a quick reminder, prospects that are activated will follow the NHL contract.

Feel free to ask us if you have any questions or want further clarifications.

THN May Keeper League Player Rankings

Enclosed May 2012 keeper league rankings.  http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/47207-May-keeper-league-player-rankings.html

BFHL has tallied up the number of players on the list per team.  Total "value" as determined by THN and the average "value" per player owned by each BFHL team.  Given there are 300 players on the list for an aggregate pt total of 19,866, you'd expect each BFHL team to average 15 players on average, with the average player getting 66.2 pts.

Top 50 Prospects HF Spring 2012 Edition

Updated for Spring 2012.

With the expansion teams starting to accumulate prospects, the field is getting tighter.  Compared to Fall 2011, a significant number of prospects have graduated into the NHL (examples include Adam Larsson, Ryan Johansen, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Jonathan Bernier, Sean Couturier, Erik Gudbrason, Cody Hodgson and many more).

Three players in the top 50 have not been drafted by a BFHL team to date.  These players may attract significant free agency interest this summer, should they be made available.
