Hey Everyone, I wanted to welcome Jeff Paling as the new manager of the Earthquakes. He's new to the hockey sim world and learning the ropes. Whether he's here to be fleeced or a saavy builder remains to be seen. I certainly wish for a long term player that can take this expansion franchaise to the next step!
The Aviators Hockey Club finally breaks the silence after no communications were made for over 9 months. The last known communication from the Seattle Aviators front office was made back in February 2011, at the midpoint of the 2nd season in the BFHL.
Why the silence?
This is a follow up on the Pythagorean formula discussion, and focuses on the NHL and the Vancouver Canucks. A lot of people have ragged on Luongo (myself included). I wanted to objectively value his worth.
The Pythagorean formula to determine winning percentages has long been used in sabermetrics. The formula is best summarized as:
Wining % = GF^2 / (GF^2 + GA^2)
Where GF = goals for, and GA = goals against.
