Seattle based BFHL team, the Aviators continue to make changes to it's flight plan as the season progesses. It was announces a few weeks ago that changes were coming and it holds true. Some of the changes announced previously were both on ice and off-ice. Here is a summary of the changes to date:
Front Office change:
Aviators waved good bye to Assistant GM Ben Cook who is now the new GM of Alpacas. Cook was hired as an Assistant GM with the Aviators a few months after the Aviators took off. Aviators GM Lee praised about is former Assistant GM when asked, "He was an asset to our team, he was in the co-pilot's seat in trade talks and cap management. We didn't like to say good bye but we thought he earned the right to manage his own team. He will do a good job with his new team, we wish him luck in his new adventure".
On Ice/Off Ice change:
It was announces last week that Aviators were revamping the look of the team, changes to the teams identity and brand. In the last report, out with the red, white and black will make way for a green, gold, white with black trim. The new look logo can be found on the top right of this report.
More changes to come:
Rumours have it that GM Lee have been in contact with his former Assistant GM Cook (currently Alpacas GM). Rumours have it a relatively significant trade is in the works. Look for 2 big name defensemens to be amongst the talk. "We are in talks but I cannot give the details of the conversation as nothing is finalized yet. We will look at all possible movements to make this team a better one, movement that will help as now as we push for a playoff spot and also for the future", added GM Lee.
The fans in the Puget Sound area are in an unfamiliar environtment, not being in a playoff spot. The team was first overall in the BFHL last year. Even though the team is in its second year of existance, the fans expect a playoff team. They hope all the changes to the Aviaitors announce and WILL announce will take them back into a playoff spot.
