If you haven't seen the results yet for the September 26th free agency, check them out here! The site/sim has been updated with these results and all transaction requests up to 6pm PST on the 26th. (let me know asap of any issues)
OFFER SHEETS
Aviators - Nick Foligno accepted Nokians 1 year @ $1,020,348
This is bound to leave a sour taste in GM Vince Lee mouth as Foligno rejected a multi year deal
Torpedos - Fabian Brunnstrom accepted Bullies 2 year @ $1.05mil/year
New rule effectively immediately, GMs have 4 days starting after the offer sheet to match OR walk and take the compensation (if any). Deadline is NOON PST on the 4th day. No response would mean the GM does not match.
Next FA period deadline is Oct 3rd, 2010 @ NOON PST. After that, we will have scheduled openings on the first Sunday of every month. Depending on demand, we could consider to bump up the date earlier. We just don't have the time to manage this daily or even weekly all year. Besides, your teams should be pretty set except say for a few key pieces or you're the team where a player rejected their 99% probability offer. Remember that you need salary cap room to move players up and down from the farm in case of injuries. READ THE RULES.
Prospect Activations will follow the same schedule as Free Agency. (See below on clarification of Prospects)
Multiple position deadline is the OCTOBER 3rd, 2010 @ NOON PST as well. We need time to get things set up in the Sim. As long as your player has the proper supporting documents, he will get his multi positional ability. Set your line ups now and on the first puck drop, your out of position player will no longer be playing out of position :)
About the line ups, notice that there is now an option to upload the lines directly from the client! If for some reason, you are unable to do this, there's still the good old forum upload system from last year.
Finally, there were some questions about prospects as some are clearly not prospects. Here's our take on that:
Player ratings are done by some group of people. The specific group we are using, rates players based on their most recent season. If the player doesn't play, there will be no set of ratings for this player. This may change from year to year but we will try to stick with the same group who does the ratings.
Every year, we will update the players with a new set of ratings. What the simulator does when it finds that a player is not listed, it will send him to the prospects list. Doesn't matter who it is. We didn't want to manage too much this so we're taking the lazy approach. If the player exists in the ratings sheet, you can use him on BFHL, if he doesn't then you can't use him that year. This really only affects bubble players and those that can't find NHL contracts/goto KHL.
Sometimes prospects are playing in the NHL and HAVE ratings in the BFHL. Instead of managing prospects and trying to keep tabs on all of them, we are letting you manage your prospects and deciding if they should be activated or not. Maybe you think they need a bit more seasoning before joining your team.
That pretty much covers everything I wanted to talk about this time, it's all starting very very soon!
