League Musings Update - RFA Signing Deadline

In my opinion, Drumheller area needs more than a day trip to really get the most out of it, especially the outdoorsy stuff in like a half hour radius. Gotta do it with an RV next time or something!

The RFA "must be signed by date" has been debated a bit.  The NHL saga last year with Nylander really highlighted this rule.   NHL has a January 1st rule.  My tying it with the BFHL trade deadline was out of laziness on my part but it shouldn't be too much more effort to mark a similar date in the calendar.

We will do the January Open FA window as the deadline, what this means:

• Your RFA needs to be signed by the January 5th, 2020 signing window (Remember we go monthly, signing periods will be the first sunday of the month for our signing periods once the season starts)
• If not signed, everyone will have a shot at the now free agent at the February 1st and subsequent signing window(s).
• Any other team putting a bid in the January signing window will be putting forth an offersheet.
