HAPPY NEW YEAR - BFHL is Back!

Happy New Year Everyone,

Hope you all had a great holiday season.

BFHL is ready to start simming again on the 4th.  Note that during the break, the sim program released an update so be sure to download the latest client version 1.1.7.  Get it under item 1 of the League Files.

A few things to update you here:

  1. New Simulator Client Version 1.1.7 (as mentioned above)
  2. New Rule Regarding One Way Contracts (eliminated)
  3. New Buy Out Rule
  4. New Sports Action Style lotto game
  5. Prospects Draft (Starts on the 4th)

New Rules

  • For this first year, we will remove the situation where once a player plays 25 games, his contract turns into a one way contract.  This means that no matter how many games a player plays, they will only make 10% of that in the farm.  Please note that waiver rules are still in affect after 10 pro games played.
  • We are also introducing a Buy Out rule.  If you think you've made a severe mistake on player and can't get rid of him via trade or waivers, then you will have the option to buy him out.  Since we can't implement NHL buy out style rules, the cost of a buy out will be 1.5x the remaining value of his contract, including the portion of the current year.
    • Better beef up your bank accounts for those GMs interested in doing this!

BFHL Sports Action

  • Coming next week (January 11th, 2010) will be a lotto system GMs can participate in to make more money
  • It will be based on weekly BFHL games, pick the winners, person with the most right will win a jackpot from around $500k  to $1 million.
  • More details to come later this week.

Prospects Draft

  • Finally the moment we've all been waiting, for, who's going first? :)
  • As mentioned previously, the draft order will be in reverse order of the draft before the start of the season.

  • Be sure to notify the next GM that their turn is up.
  • There isn't as much of a rush to get this completed but the sooner you do, the sooner you can be more creative with your trade options!  There will be a 12hr limit between picks imposed.
