Sorry about being a bit checked out lately. A few too many distractions for me to deal with and felt a bit tired. Nevermind that though, it's time to get back into the swing of things!
First item on the agenda. Now that we've seen how things have shaken down around the NHL, it's time for you to make your decisions on YOUR OWN team free agent players. Are you going to keep them, or let them move on? Sign them short term or long term? You will now know the asking range of your players with our free agent signing tool, courtesy of the work of Bombers GM. Many thanks Ivan!
New guys, please be sure to check the rule book about RFA and qualifying offers. We have a small write up as well about the free agent tool. Definitely reach out to us with any questions however! Here are some quick points to take note of:
- RFA's can stay on your team unsigned as long as you give a qualifying offer.
- There is no 100% guarantee to sign any player. 98% is the cap as we allow 2% for the chance the player just wants to leave your team.
- In this first round where it's just your own team, don't offer more than 98%

- >100% bids come when you are open market bidding and want to beat other teams offers.
- You get ONCE chance to present and offer and I'll run them through the tool to spit out the result.
- You need to get to the 35 player signed on your team by October 9th, 2016 deadline.
With that, I'll let you absorb, please don't hesitate to ask questions. The frist round is just YOUR OWN players and starts September 11th, 2016. After that it's open market weekly with deadlines on Sundays. The dates to be explicit are:
- September 11th, 2016 - YOUR team only FA
- September 18th, 2016 - Open FA
- September 25th, 2016 - Open FA
- October 2nd, 2016 - Open FA
- October 9th, 2016 - Last Open FA before start of season.
