BFHL 2012/13 End of Season Wrap Up

Bullies up 2-0. Hope it wont up like the 2011 Canucks! - HK Bullies

Definite self jinx of the year, though technically didn't quite end up like the Canucks (no game 7), hilarious none the less.

Congrats to Storm GM Brian Yip,  for their third trip to the finals and second BFHL cup in the four years since the inception of the league.  We pretty much have a dynasty in the making though it's going to be tough to continue with all the great GMs we have around here eager to prove their worth!

It was a challenging season with the delayed start to the NHL but we still managed to pull things together and end up with a solid year four.  With the lock out behind us, impressive entry draft class, massive cap drop, forced prospect activations, year five is going to be very interesting with big changes coming for a lot of our teams.  I'm really looking forward to our off season.

As usual, we'll keep pretty quiet on the league activity side of things throughout the summer as we wait for player re-rates.  We will probably start the entry draft shortly after the NHL is finished and as usual, it will be forum draft as we semi casually work through all the teams turns. ;)

I wasn't that well organized for awards (kinda normal for me if it wasn't already evident) so rather than drag eveyone in to vote, below are the awards, discussed internally.

Vezina - Jonathan Quick (Red Sox Honey Badgers)
He was just that damned good
He was instrumental for Bagders turnaround from the previous season

Norris - Shea Weber (Worgs)
High performance level on a team that struggled early but clawed back for a playoff spot

Calder - Ryan Nugent Hopkins (Coyotes)
Top rookie scorer

Selke - Patrice Bergeron (Thrashers)
Selke worthy performance and PK specialist

Conn Smythe - Cory Schneider (Storm)
Dominating playoff numbers

Hart - Evgeni Malkin (Bullies)
Dominated so many aspects of the game for Bullies

GM of the Year - Brian Yip (Storm)
Lots of good options but we had to give it to Storm GM for his consistent high level of play (even excluding play off performance.  (Honorable Mentions: Bullies, Honey Badgers)

Lets have a good break, recharge and get ready for the next season!  Forums are open for posting of trades for any GMs willing to get to work right away.
