Crunch Time and Authoritative Decisions

Hey Everyone,

So a few things to talk about here

1) Start Date

Monday, October 5th, 2009 will be the official start day of the Inaugural BFHL season.

The season will be an 82 game season and will be stretched out so that it coincides with the end of the NHL regular season as well.

2) Drafting Deadlines and Update Number of Draft Rounds
Thank you so far for everyone making every effort to to keep the draft moving forward.  With the NHL season fast approaching, I need to make sure the draft is complete and that we can move on to fiddling with our teams.  I am looking to have the draft completed by this Thursday.  This will give me time to get things ready on the simulator side and hopefully set by Friday and allow you the weekend to play with your rosters.  To ensure we accomplish this goal, some changes to note:

  • Drafting Deadline
    • From around 7am to 11pm PST, I am implementing a 2-3 hr window (at our discretion) from the last posted draft pick for you to pick your player.  You are most welcome to pick in the middle of the night!
    • All of you are directly tied to one of the commishes and can provide your upcoming picks to them if you can't make it in time.
    • Since I am at the end, picks can be sent to me, Nokians GM, if there is worry of conflict of interest (stealing picks) but not if I'm picking before you hehehe.  Just watch the draft order.
    • If we do not hear from you, the commish you are directly will pick for you.  If we don't here from that commish, one of the other commishes are going to pick... probably by a blind darts system.  I've got a free wheeling mouse wheel hahaha.
  • Update Number of Draft Rounds
    • Instead of going 43 rounds like planned, we will go 38 rounds.  We will not be simulating Farm team games so we don't actually need a full roster in the farm.  We just need enough to sub in for injuries and suspensions and what not.
    • Your Farm cap will now be 2 million (or 20 million of the full player salaries)
    • If according to the draft sheet, it seems like you have 76.8million drafted (combined Pro and Farm destined Players at 100% salary), we will have to stop drafting for you because you can't go over the caps.

3) I thought I had a third one but it's 2am and I seem to have lost it.
